Sra. Melissa Core, Maestra principal de MS, Ciencias de MS
Hi! My name is Mrs. Core. I teach middle school science. This is my fourth year teaching at CODCA and I love learning all the awesome interests and talents that my students have and trying to relate those interest to our science lessons. I enjoy spending time with my family (husband, two boys, three dogs, two bearded dragons, two frogs, an axolotl and fish), anything outdoors, gardening and DIY stuff. I am looking forward to an awesome new school year.
Sr. Josh Kitchen, MS Ciencias
I live in southwest Colorado with my wife, daughter, and 3 dogs. We enjoy spending time in the outdoors, traveling, hunting, and fishing. I have been a teacher for 10 years; I have taught at the high school level as well as 7th and 8th grade. Subjects include everything from woodworking to geometry but my favorite subject to teach is science. I believe science teaches us about ourselves and the forces around us which gives us a greater perspective of the beauty of this world. Currently I teach 8th grade physical science. MA: Education; BA: Psychology; BS: Biology
Sra. Heather Krebs, MS ELA
I’ve been teaching some form of reading or writing for nearly twenty years. I have taught at the University of Nevada, at an English conversational school in Yokohama, Japan, Front Range Community College, and, of course, middle school here at CODCA. To me, reading and writing can be very difficult at times. Even though I’m a Language Arts teacher, I’m not immune from writer’s block or from having difficulty understanding what I have read. In Language Arts, I hope to make it easier for you by sharing all of the tips and tricks I’ve learned along the way with you.
Ms. Hannah Shaw, 7th Gr ELA
My name is Hannah Shaw, and this is my eight year teaching English Language Arts. This will also be my second full year of online teaching. My passions include video games, Dungeons and Dragons, collecting enamel pins, reading, and anime/comic book conventions. I have a pet cockatiel named Arpeggio, and her passions include trying to eat my keyboard, spying on my students, and chewing on important documents.
Mrs. Ali Stone, 6th Grade ELA Teacher
Mrs. Stone earned her MA in Teaching and Learning from Colorado State University and a BS in Communication from CU Denver. This is her third year at CODCA. Before that, she taught third grade for several years. She recognizes that each student learns in their own unique way, and she is grateful for what that brings to the classroom environment. She loves working with middle school students; they have such a great sense of humor and teach her so much every day! When she is not teaching, she enjoys reading and spending time with her husband and dogs on their family farm.
Sr. Henry Jones, 'The Docta', MS Estudios Sociales
Welcome Historians! I am your World History 1 teacher Henry “Tersh” Jones. This is my eleventh-year teaching in an online setting, and I am very excited to see where the adventure takes us! I am also excited to be working for you, the students. I grew up in Aspen and went to college at CSU in Fort Collins. I now live in Longmont with my wife, our two children Hank (16) and Sadye (18 and moved to New York City right after graduating high school), two dogs and two cats. I spent much of my youth doing the things you would expect in Colorado: skiing, camping, biking, and playing ice hockey. I coached hockey at all age levels after college and that was when I discovered my love of teaching young people. I still love to play hockey. It soothes my soul if you can believe it. I spend much of my spare time these days (mostly while my kids are at theater, soccer, or karate) reading, mainly historical fiction, and non-fiction. I even enjoy reading alternate history.
Sra. Nicolette VanDelinder, Maestría en Estudios Sociales,
Ms.VanDelinder has a BA in Social Studies from the University of Northern Colorado and a MA in Information and Learning Technologies from the University of Colorado. Teaching students, rather than a content area is her focus. Students learn better when they feel safe, appreciated, and respected in the classroom. The genuine connection between an educator and their students is what pushes them to become their best selves. Whether it's Social Studies, Game Design, Programming, or eSports, connecting with students is her specialty.
Sra. Sharon Byrd, MS Matemáticas
At CODCA, Sharon Byrd loves to see students engage and increase their confidence as they grow their math skills. Mrs. Byrd is a graduate of the University of Texas and Texas Woman’s University. She is married, has one son that is serving the USAF and is a dog mom to two basset hounds named Zeke and Bentley. Mrs. Byrd is excited to a part of the team at CODCA and excited to help your student succeed.

Ms. Jennifer Colestock, MS Spanish & Gifted and Talented

When she isn’t working hard with all of you, she enjoys staying active in the mountains of Central Oregon – you may find her hiking or running on the trails or, if it gets too cold (or she gets too crunchy!) on her yoga mat, often with her best furry friend. She also enjoys traveling, movies, reading, and finding fun places to drink too much coffee and catch up with her friends and family!
Sra. Sarah Thomas, Consejera de MS
